Passwords are great for locking yourself out

Is it just me or do we need to seriously rethink the way we do security in general? I spend so much time resetting passwords it’s absurd. You would think that with Chrome’s ability to remember your passwords across all of your devices, I shouldn’t have to be continually resetting my passwords, yet at least once every day, I find myself having to reset a password for everything from Credit Karma to Netflix to WordPress to Bluehost. Not to mention the fact that my passwords are always being compromised by some data breach.

There has to be a better way to do security. Sure they have password keepers, and there’s always the old notebook (bad idea), but I just think we need to entirely rethink security.

Like why not create some security process that only you would know how to complete and then use that generated security token across an entire browser session. It would be up to you to make sure you close the browser when you’re finished, but it sure would beat having to remember the answers to the security questions that I hastily chose and then supplied some odd capitalized answer that I won’t remember for the life of me when I need to get into my account urgently so I don’t… miss my flight, or whatever the pressing issue may be.

Here’s another random mystery I have going on in google world: Please tell me if this has happened to any of you – sometimes I get an email that shows up in my notifications and when I go to read it, the email disappears. I can reproduce this issue if I go to log in to Best Buy and choose the option to receive a one-time email to avoid resetting my password. The email shows up in my inbox, but when I go to open it, it vanishes. The email is not in my trash or any other folder. I can’t search for it. It just disappears. Any thoughts? Please leave them below. I would love to know the answer to this one.
